Grounded — A Mindful App helps you rediscover balance and purpose through mindful daily actions and affirmations rooted in timeless wisdom. Inspired by Akan principles, four pillars guide it — reflect, restore, recenter, and renew — each offering a pathway to healing and growth. By transforming simple actions into meaningful rituals, Grounded empowers you to live intentionally, embrace your wellness journey, and connect with a deeper sense of grace and harmony. Wherever you are on your path, Grounded supports your journey toward wholeness.

The Four Pillars to Wellness
Grounded runs on the same four elemental pillars that anchor the rest of The Black Food Project — Asase Yaa, Bosompo, Nyame, and Ogya. Here, each element becomes a daily wellness practice.
| Pillar | Akan Term (Element) | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Restore | Asase Yaa — Earth | The grounding force. Cultivation, growth, and what the land provides over time. Restoration replenishes physical, emotional, and spiritual reserves to regain vitality and balance. |
| Reflect | Bosompo — Water | The cleansing, nourishing force. Digestion, immunity, and flow. Reflection is the stillness that lets you see clearly — mindful consideration of your actions, thoughts, and emotions. |
| Recenter | Nyame — Sky / Air | The connecting force. Spiritual clarity, community, and breath. Recentering grounds you in purpose through breath and stillness. |
| Renew | Ogya — Fire | The transformative force. Urgency, survival, and the spark that keeps a household fed. Renewal is the spark of new beginnings and the resilience to move forward. |
How Grounded Relates to TNI
Therapeutic Nutritional Intervention (TNI) is the engine that drives Grounded’s pathways, kitchen capacity check, food memory journal, grocery practice, and daily grounding features. Each major app feature maps back to the same four elemental pillars — Grounded is TNI’s daily interface, not a separate system.
